A partnership between Techdinamics and Parsel
There’s a problem most shippers know well that gets a lot harder to ignore as Q4 approaches.
Brands want carrier diversity. They want regional options that perform better on certain lanes. They want shipping costs optimized without having to become experts in carrier procurement themselves. And more and more, they're using carrier flexibility as a filter when deciding which 3PL to go with.
The catch? Every new carrier has historically meant more work: new integrations, new pickup windows, new contracts, new training. More complexity layered onto a floor that's already got plenty going on. And that's before Black Friday doubles their volume overnight.
That tradeoff has kept a lot of 3PLs stuck with the same two or three nationals, even when better options are sitting right there. And it's the kind of thing that only becomes a real problem when it's too late to fix it.
Techdinamics and Parsel built their platforms to solve different sides of this problem. Together, they solve the whole thing and they do it in a way that doesn't require a months-long implementation to get there.
Who is Techdinamics?
Techdinamics has been in the fulfillment tech space since 2016, spending nearly a decade helping 3PLs, brands, and retailers get a handle on their operations. Their platform brings together order management (techOMS), custom integrations, multi-carrier shipping (techSHIP), tracking, auditing, and workflow automation. All under one roof.
The whole idea is that fulfillment shouldn't require stitching together a dozen different tools that don't quite talk to each other. Customers come to Techdinamics because they want one platform that handles everything from order flow to carrier selection to downstream visibility, especially when volume spikes and there's no margin for error.
They call the end result the “Perfect Order Process”: orders out the door faster, fewer errors, lower cost. Everything you need when the stakes are highest from October to December.
How the partnership came together
Techdinamics is always looking at carriers and partners that can add more value for the shippers and 3PLs on their platform. As their customer base grew, one thing kept coming up: good technology only gets you so far when what your customers actually need is carrier access they don't have.
techSHIP is excellent at the intelligence layer, including rate shopping, business rules, and carrier selection logic. But a lot of customers were running into a wall when it came to actually accessing regional carriers or getting competitive pricing they couldn't negotiate on their own. They didn't have the volume. They didn't have the bandwidth to manage separate relationships with every carrier. And onboarding new carriers one at a time is a project, not a workflow, which means it rarely gets done before peak season hits.
So, many of them were doing it the hard way by managing carrier relationships independently and dealing with fragmented contract negotiations, inconsistent rate management, and billing complexity. And they still were not getting the best rates or coverage when it mattered most.
Why Parsel made sense
The decision came down to three things: flexibility, carrier diversity, and what it actually means for customers when volume peaks.
Parsel's virtual carrier network opens up access to regional, emerging, and specialized carriers: the ones that often beat the nationals on specific lanes but that most 3PLs never get to because the bar to entry is too high. When national carriers are constrained or surcharges spike heading into the holidays, having those alternatives already active in your stack isn't a nice-to-have. It's the difference between absorbing costs and passing them on.
Rather than everyone defaulting to the same carrier strategy, the Techdinamics and Parsel combination lets 3PLs build something tailored around each client's needs and resilient enough to hold up when those needs scale fast.
"Our goal is to help customers build smarter shipping programs that are scalable, cost-effective, and adaptable to whatever changes the market brings,” says Nathan Goobie, Head of Carrier Partnerships at Techdinamics. “Together, we combine powerful shipping technology with expanded carrier access and procurement expertise."
More options. Smarter routing. A lot less overhead to manage, especially when you need it most.
How it actually works
The integration was built around one idea: the customer shouldn't have to think about it. Here's what happens behind the scenes on every shipment:
- Order comes in. The customer's ERP, WMS, ecommerce platform, or OMS pushes the order into techSHIP, whatever system they're already running.
- techSHIP figures out the best option. Business rules, carrier selection logic, and rate shopping run in the background to determine the optimal carrier and service based on cost and delivery requirements.
- Parsel takes it from there. When a Parsel carrier is the right fit, the shipment is routed through the Parsel network, manifested, and a label is generated, all without the customer switching screens or tools.
- Tracking flows back automatically. Tracking information is returned through techSHIP to the customer and their downstream systems, so visibility is seamless end-to-end. Clients can also sync their Shopify store to the Parsel app for delivery status updates within Shopify and Parsel’s free branded tracking functionality.
No new screens. No new SOPs. Nobody on the floor needs to learn a new system, which matters a lot when you're onboarding seasonal staff in October and don't have time to retrain anyone on new tools.
"From the customer's perspective, everything happens within a single workflow while benefiting from both platforms behind the scenes,” says Nathan.
The floor runs exactly the way it always has. The only thing that's different is the quality of the decision happening on every single shipment and the ability to route around disruptions when national carriers start slipping on peak season SLAs.
The pitch gets better, too.
For 3PLs, carrier diversification has gone from a conversation that comes up occasionally to one that comes up in almost every brand pitch. And brands that went through a painful peak season with a single-carrier strategy are asking about it even earlier now.
They want regional carriers that actually serve their key geographies well. They want cost efficiency that doesn't require them to hire someone to manage it. And they want to know you can scale with them through Q4 before they sign anything.
3PLs running techSHIP with Parsel can say yes to all of that without it creating more work for their team or their floor. Carrier optionality becomes something they can offer, not something they're still figuring out.
The pitch changes pretty simply: "We ship across a full carrier network with automatic rate optimization and one coordinated pickup. You don't manage any of it, even at peak." The brand gets flexibility. The 3PL keeps things simple. It's a better conversation to be in, especially heading into the back half of the year.
What it's like working together
Techdinamics describes the partnership as collaborative, responsive, and knowledgeable from day one. Both are ultra focused on what actually helps customers.
Their take on what makes partnerships work is honest: no single company solves everything on its own. The ones that work are the ones where both teams are genuinely trying to make things better for the people using their tools, including when those people are in the middle of their busiest weeks of the year.
"The best partnerships aren't just integrations between platforms, they're relationships built around helping customers achieve better outcomes,” says Nathan. “By combining our strengths, we're able to deliver more value than either organization could independently."
That comes through in how the integration actually behaves. When both teams share the same operating philosophy, you can feel it in the product.
Where things go from here
The shipping landscape keeps shifting. More carrier options, more demand for flexibility, more pressure on cost and visibility, and peak seasons that seem to start earlier every year.
The shared goal: help customers build shipping strategies that are smarter, more scalable, and ready for whatever the market throws at them, including the four months of the year when everything is on the line.
A good direction to be moving in together. And the right time to get started is before you need it.
